GURU AND DISCIPLE
What is a Guru?
A Guru is he who devours
The ignorance-sea of his disciple.
What is a disciple?
A disciple is he who swims
In the wisdom-sea of his Guru.
What is a Guru?
A Guru is he who finds himself
In the soul of his disciple.
What is a disciple?
A disciple is he who loses himself
In the heart of his Guru.
MR. GURU AND MR. DISCIPLE
Mr. Guru,
You say
You have realised God.
Can you prove it?
Mr. disciple,
You feel
You are not another God.
Can you prove it?
Yes I can, Mr. Guru.
My ignorance-sea
Before you
Is my unmistakable proof.
I too can prove, Mr. disciple.
My love-compassion-sky
For you
Is my undeniable proof.
A REAL GURU
Who is a real Guru?
A real Guru is he
Who does not call you stupid,
Undivine and useless.
A real Guru is he who says:
“You have knowledge,
But you need more knowledge.
Try, you certainly can!”
A real Guru is he who says:
“You are divine,
But you can be more divine.
Try, you certainly can!”
A real Guru is he who says:
“You are useful,
Infinitely more useful
Than you ever can imagine.
But you can be more useful.
Try, you certainly can!”
A real Guru is he who says:
“You are God’s chosen instrument.
You are useful,
You are fruitful,
You are indispensable
To the divine Vision of God.”
Everybody has his own beloved.
In my case, my Beloved
Is my Eternity’s Guru:
My Supreme.
